When I go to check my email ,the messenger box pops up and says this, "You are logged on in two places". It has happened several times. What could be the problem?

You are off topic for the forum you posted to, which is dedicated to Microsoft Security Esentials Beta

The message indicates that you are signed on using your Windows Live ID into the Messenger service from two distinct locations/devices.

I have a similar problem, except that I am definitely not logged in at two seperate places. I will log into hotmail.com, and 90% of the time it will say that I am logged in at two seperate locations. It is generally fine for about half an hour, but then it says that the other location has logged me out. I have tried saying "sign out of everywhere (two places)" but this only works for a short amount of time and then the messenger disconnects. I also have a problem on my desktop Windows Live application; I can log in, but around 45 seconds later it disconnects me. I can re log in, but without fail it will disconnect within a minute every time. What could be the problem? I can use other Windows Live Messenger accounts on the same PC - they work fine - but mine is the one that does this. Could someone help me with this?Monday, November 23, 2009 1:35 PM
