Why after reformat it says my genuine product key was used? RRS feed

  • Hi there,

    I have a Alienware M15x laptop with a genuine window vista ultimate 32bit with it (genuine product keys are in the bottom of my casing and have been used for few reformating and reactivating) and today I have been reformatting it to factory settings, after reformating i was ask to input my product key (which i do exactly it says) then after that it says my product keys is alrdy in used. I have try to formatting it once more but still couldnt resolve my problems. I cant log in to my desktop as i always stuck on ativating your window,I have download and run a diagonized with the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagonostic tool (1.9.0011.0)

    P.S: I have been reusing my own genuine product keys and this is the first time I have occured the problem.

  • You can reactivate your Windows Vista installation by performing the following:

    1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in:  slui.exe 4

    2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

    3. Select your Country.

    4. Follow the instructions for phone activation (no charge).
