70-685 Command Lines

Question
-
Hi,
Anyone can suggest what command lines are worthy to memorize (whether in deployment or configuration via cmd) for the 70-685 exam?
Also, does anyone know if there is a certificate for 70-680 exam? I passed the 70-680 exam and I can download the transcript but whenever I click the download certificate links, it says I have not completed any certifications yet. This shouldn't be the case because when you check the website of Microsoft, it says that passing 70-685 exam completes the requirements for MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration. Does that mean that MCTS has already been phased out? When I click the certification planner, it only says I am on the MCSA: Windows 7 track.

Hi Icatabran,
Thanks for posting. I can't answer your question about the 70-680 certificate, but I'll try to answer the other questions.
Firstly, I don't know exactly what commands you should memorize for the 70-685 (Microsoft doesn't release this information), but I can recommend an excellent resource you can use to learn the commands you're likely to encounter on the exam.
It's the Windows 7 Portable Command Guide by Darril Gibson, and it covers commands for the 70-680, 70-685, and 70-686 exams.
http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Portable-Command-Guide-70-680/dp/0789747359/
I keep it right above my desk, along with the Windows Server 2008 Portable Command Guide, and I find it to be an invaluable resource.
Secondly, the MCTS certification itself is not being phased out. Some MCTS certifications are being retired, but others, like that earned by passing the 70-680, are not yet scheduled for retirement. However, the MCITP certification is being retired, to be replaced by the MCSA, but this is taking place on different dates for different certification tracks.
Although the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 certification is being retired on January 31, 2014, the exams that comprise this certification (70-680 and 70-685) are not currently scheduled for retirement.
Currently, if you pass exams 70-680 and 70-685 you will receive both the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician 7 certification and the MCSA: Windows 7 certification. However, after January 31, 2014, if you pass these two exams you will receive the MCSA: Windows 7 certification only.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the suggestions regarding the command lines. Very helpful. One more question if you do not mind, what area do you think should I focus heavily on for the 70-685 exam?
I also want to know if Microsoft designs their exam to be confusing by intentionally mispelling the correct answer. I'll give an example. There was this question in the exam where I need to enumerate the steps on how to copy user settings from Windows XP folder (located in c:) to the Windows 7 c:\Users drive on the SAME computer. There were only two choices, using either 1) Scanstate or 2) xcpopy. Now, based on my references (correct me if I am wrong), you cannot use Scanstate on the c: drive as a destination or something like that. However, take note that of the second choice "xcpopy". So my question is, how should I have dealt with this scenario? Basically, I want to know if Microsoft does this intentionally or it's really just a typo so in the future I can make better decisions? I really had a hard time choosing the correct answer. (I chose Scanstate even against my judgement cause I thought that a mispelled code is not the correct answer)
To James,
If that is the case regarding MCTS, then how come I can't see any certificate available for download for the 70-680 exam (which should be equivalent to the MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration)? Is it possible perhaps that I need to wait for some time for it to show? I passed the exam just three days ago (from today). I am okay with the transcript showing I passed the 70-680 exam but I wish there was a certificate to download. =(

Yes, I did. Took a week but I did get it. A little bit of patience did it.
