Question re "Non-genuine" MS Office as provided ready loaded by HP on a new HP computer

Question
-
Today, I downloaded a new MS auto update KB949810 which is supposed to validate my MS Office.
It declared it INVALID or NOT GENUINE.
How can that possible be, since it is the original ready-loaded software provided by HP when I bought the HP computer new.

My thanks to both Darin and Sudarshan,
For your helpful replies.
I think I've now sorted this out and found what happened and the solution ie Upgrade with a new copy of Office 2007. In fact I've just done that.
This thread is now "clutter". Is it possible for me to delete it?
Thanks again.
