Could you please advise me if this PID/Licence is Genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, After seeing all the posts here regarding illegal versions of Windows 7, I would like you to look at my MGAdiag Report and advise me if it is genuine.

I bought a sealed Retail version of Win 7 Ultimate with COA etc.

    Thanks in advance

  • Your key is an MSDN key, not intended for resale and therefore is or will be blocked. If it has not already failed validation it will eventually. If this is a fresh install that will not activate then the key has already been blocked.

  • Thanks for your quick reply.

I will set about getting a refund from vendor, I will use this thread as proof it is an illegal copy.

Thing that worries me is that the discs looked exactly like the genuine one on Microsoft's site.

    Thanks again!

  • I can confirm that Carl is correct, you have an MSDN key.

  • Hi again,

Going through the process of claiming a refund.

I have received another Product Key from vendor, could you please check this one as well?

I don't have high hopes for it, I asked for a COA but didn't get one.

    Thanks again Guys!

  • Hello J Haze,

    Windows Product ID: 00426-068-2633304-86966

Nope, same exact problem with this one, it's an MSDN license.

You are getting the "run-around" from the vendor who is well aware that they are selling nongenuine product.  They are trying to run out the clock so that you will pass the deadline for filing a claim with the sales venue and/or your payment system and/or your credit card company.

Demand a full refund, and purchase genuine product from a trusted local or online retailer, or directly from Microsoft.

You have not posted the full mgadiag report that includes info on your time zone.  If you are in the UK, there is an alternative described in this sticky post:  http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en/genuinewindows7/thread/4b6f01a4-4475-4e3b-a4e4-6ec921b785b8
