I believe synctoy uses 'delete and copy' for files which are moved or renamed. Is that true? Its quite annoying if you move/rename large files as it unnecessarily uses bandwidth and takes a lot of time to sync.
It is not true that synctoy deletes and copied all moved/renamed files. We will try to detect a move/rename and as long as no other changes were made to the file ( in addition to the move/rename) we will detect it correctly and avoid a file copy.
Thanks DeepaDeepa ( Microsoft Sync Framework)
