I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 which came with Windows Vista Home installed but recently been playing with various Linux Distro's. I decided to reinstall Windows Vista using a recovery disc Dell provided me with.
I ran into one problem however, I looked at the bottom of the laptop and the cd-key on the Vista sticker is unreadable. Some of the numbers are readable but theres at-least six that I have no clue what they are and on the sleeve for the recovery disc it doesn't have the key.
I was wondering is there someway I can place the Vista disc into my PC and somehow harvest the cd-key off of it? Or do I absolutely have to contact Dell? Because god knows their support is awful.
