new sora board does not work RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

I have two sora boards, an old sora board and a new one.

The old one I guess was purchased last year; the new one was purchased last month.

I plug the old ones into a host, it can receive packets. Then I unplug the old one, and plug the new one, it does not work. I try to restart computer, replace the USRP daughter board and anttena. It still does not work.

The CPU is i7-950; windows XP SP3; sora SDK 1.5.

Is there any update in the new sora board?

    thanks

  • Hi,

    sorry for reply so late.

my motherboard is Gigabyte X58A-UD3R. chipset is X58. I thought it was compatible.

    Another question:

has anybody try dell XPS8300? the chipset is H67 and the CPU is i7-2600.

I should have bought XPS9100. but now 9100 is out of sale.

    thanks

  • You can contact with Sora hardware vendor directly if you find problem on new boards, they should have performed full test on each delivered board.

  • I have met the same problem.

I found that the "Transfer" doesn't work under user mode.

In kernel, another problem appears which "11a" driver works well while "11b" doesn't.

I don't know what's going on inside kernel.

P.S. My sdk version is 1.5

  • Yes. I caputer one 11a packet sent by SORA, but caputer no 11b packet.

the carrier sense of 11b is not perfect.

I think my environment is too noisy (so many other WiFi). Do you try in a noisy environment?

in my DbgView, I always see

    "E_FETCH_SIGNAL_HW_TIMEOUT"

    "Reset MAC send"

  • Even I set the Rx gain as zero, I still can not send any packet.

    I always meet this error.

"[TX][Error] I can't tx it out because transfer fail, make it TXDone to complete"

  • Hey guys,

Can you tell us what the vender of your motherboard?

Also, have you tried HWV tools in Sora 1.5 and ensure the board (hardware) is working properly?

If you have any problem with the hardware board, please contact V3 for a replacement.

    Thanks,
