ISE - still no pane to see variable values? RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Is there still no pane in ISE to list a script's variable values? I just googled an almost 10 year old forum append that one needs to query the variable name to see the value. Boy - is this lame! Unbelievable!

  • You have to learn how to use trace and debugging.  It is all built into PowerShell.

  • ... and you should learn as well how to search the internet I think. ;-) :-D  You could use Visual Studio Code. It's the dedicated successor of the ISE and provides an integrated debugger as well.

    1. You are mistaken. In the ISE, you can float the mouse pointer over a variable name in the code, and it will display the variable's value.

    2. Complaining about it in this forum is useless. We're not Microsoft employees here.

  • Bill,  I thought this was the complaints forum.  When did that change.
