Deleting email attachments

  MS CRM ONLINE 2013

  I am only asking this because I have not found a relevant answer to this question after searching. I also googled the answer, but there has to be a better and easier way and without the use of a plugin.

  We would like to delete attachments from old emails, but still keep the emails. I am sure as a security issue, MS does not want you going in and modifying emails. I can understand that, but attachements can take up a lot of space. I want to keep a three year old email conversation, but I don't want the attachment anymore. It gives the option to 'remove' the attachment, but it dosen't do anything.

  I don't want to install plugin for functionality that should already be included.

  Thoughts?
