Disabling Remote Desktop Control in Live Meeting RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Live Meeting (OCS 2007,) we want to create a policy to disable the possibility of someone taking over someone's shared desktop.  We still want the ability for a presenter to share their desktop, but we don't want them to allow anyone else to be able to take it over.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hello,

In the OCS console right click your Forest>Properties>Global Properties, then select the meeting tab.  From there you can edit eht policy that is assisgned for meetings (Unless you've changed it it will be Default).  Select the policy you would like to edit and hit the edit button.  From there you will see the "Enable Program and Desktop Sharing" section, if you don't want control passed back and forth choose "Never allow control of shared programs or desktops".  That should do the trick for you.

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Kevin, but that doesn't help.  That option is specifically for non-AD users.  All of our users are AD and we don't want them to be able to allow another user to take over their desktop.  If we can, we'd like the ability to share and application that can be taken over, but just not the desktop - share is okay, but not remote control.
