Plugin & Enterprise Library

    General discussion

  • I am trying to use the logging block of the enterprise library. For now I'm just trying to use a simple rolling file. However, I am getting the exception:

The type LogWriter cannot be constructed. You must configure the container to supply this value

I suspect that it cannot read my configuration which is stored in the app.config. Since the plugin is a dll it probably does not pick it up. I also tried to have the file embedded but that did not help either. So how do I configure/use the enterprise library in plugins?

  • First try copying app.config to the crmweb root if your enterprise dll's are in bin folder. If this doesnt work try deploying your enterpriselibrary dll's to GAC.

If you are trying to write to eventlog then IIS security prevents you from accessing it so you need to provide some special settings in registry to allow read and write to users.

    Hope this helps. Amar
