off topic -windows server 2008 - network share requires password on reboot. RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Dear all,

My problem:  I mapped a share folder (on win2008 server) onto my windows xp pro (sp3) workstation with user ABC. This ABC user exists on the win 2008 server and I am logged in as a local user on my workstation, I specified login with different user.
This method working fine.  However, when I reboot by workstation, clicked on the mapped drive, it prompted for the password.
So I have to enter password for user ABC again.

I used to have a windows server 2000 and I never have to re-enter the password.  The problem started to happen after switching to windows server 2008.

    Thanks

  • Are you using Windows Live OneCare and is the Share a backup destination? If not, you're off topic for this forum.

  • Hi,

Sorry, first time posted here for me.  I'm sure this is not the right forum.  Can you move it to an appropriate one?
    or how can I?

    Thanks
