can't view forums when signed in with live id

Question
-
My current live id account that I am posting with works fine on these forums. I have another account (aquaseal at gmail dotcom) that is much older and I cannot view the forums when logged in with that account. When I try to view the forums with the gmail account I receive the following runtime error: "Server Error in '/Forums' Application." My gmail account is linked to another live id and that linked live id also receives the same runtime error when trying to view the forums when logged in.
I can view the forums just fine when not logged in and also when I log in with this live id (aquaseal at live dotcom). I can also view the forums on answers.microsoft.com when logged into my gmail live id.

You may be right, that they will see your ID as OK. I know my Live ID works at both sites (Answers and TechNet/MSDN), but my profile is very different at Answers. It has little information about me and uses a signature I used 3 or 4 years ago. My conclusion is that I have ID's with the same name but different profiles, but I could be wrong.
I linked Answers because that has been recommended in other threads. Another thread here:
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/reportabug/thread/ddefd83a-86d7-4af2-a9af-024178e0315e
suggests you clear your cache, use a different browser, then if that doesn't help click Site Feedback at the bottom of this page to open a ticket. The later may be your best option. Be sure to specify the username of the id that doesn't work in the forums. I don't know if they can track it by the logon. Is one of these your old profile?
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/profile/aquaseal/?ws=usercard-mini
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/profile/aquaseal13/?ws=usercard-mini
I assume the profile you are using now is:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/profile/aquaseal3/?ws=usercard-mini
Someone at the site feedback link should be able to clear this up.

I'm a bit confused Richard ... my live id account works just fine on the answers.microsoft.com forums. It is only here (social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums) that I cannot view the forums when logged into my live id account. I don't mind asking over there but I hope I will not receive the same answer from them in which they point me back here ....

It is only here (social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums) that I cannot view the forums when logged into my live id account.
Have you tried starting from any of the other related "brands"? E.g. I'm posting this from:
http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/reportabug/threads
but then I would expect to be able to switch to an MSDN forum without further login check.
Others who have your symptom have been able to bypass it by using InPrivate Browsing, which implies a Cookie problem. E.g. in IE press Ctrl-Shift-P and see if that changes your symptom? Another more persistent case was supposedly solved by removing the Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant but others claim it is sufficient when it happens just to stop the service (wlidsvc). Another even more persistent case, yet to be solved for all I know, could not use that workaround because that feature was not installed and the user chose not to try installing it in order to test if it changed the symptom. YMMV

hey Robert, thanks for the suggestions and sorry for not posting sooner ... apparently I never received an e-mail notification about a reply to this thread ...
I have tried starting from another thread and I experience the same problem. I have also tried the above suggestions relating to cookies and removing the windows live id sign-in assistant to no avail. This issue seems to occur on multiple computers and on any browser, so I really think it is related to just my account. Plus, I can use this account (aquaseal3) on the same computers and on any browser and things work great.
I have submitted this question using the "Site Feedback" at the bottom of the page and ironically enough I received an e-mail to confirm my e-mail address and when I click the link I get the same error page ...
Anyone know a direct e-mail they can send me for reporting this problem or perhaps a number to call?

That means that you got signed in with a Live ID. So where were you posting from? And why were you not able to go to the MSDN forums from there without another logon which would cause your symptom? IOW if you still had problems using MSDN forums after that, on that session, I think you would be seeing a different symptom. If you are using IE9 you could use its Network Capture (via Developer Tools F12) to get more details about both cases. Since redirects would be involved you would want to uncheck the Clear entries on navigate options.

That would be another brand, Answers, Hotmail, Sign in. They are what is left of the Windows Live Support forums.

Sorry Robert, I had clicked on the "Site Feedback" link from this profile (aquaseal3) and submitted the form using my e-mail address that is associated with my aquaseal login (the one that is having all the problems).
I did copy and paste the "Site Feedback" link into my browser where I was logged in under my aquaseal account and I was presented with the form. Not sure if that means anything.
I will wait and see if I get a response from the Site Feedback submission and if not I will ask in the other forum. thanks for the help!
