OCS Server shutdown/reboot sequence RRS feed

  • proper order of OCS servers to reboot/shutdown, I mean to say which role (server) to shutdown first......

  • The different roles are mostly interdepedent of each other so it really doens't matter, as long as (if using an Enterprise Edition pool) the SQL back-end DB server is shutdown AFTER the FE server(s).  Typically the best order would be to shutdown secondary servers like Monitoring and Archiving first, then Mediation, Edge, and Group Chat, followed by Directors, Front-Ends, and Back-Ends.

    In other words, the deployment sequence explains that.
