I can't format blank cd's in media or windows and there's no auto feature either

  Hi,

  You can not format CD-R. You need to get a Rewritable Cd which will allow you to use it over and over again. However, if you're using it for the first time and having trouble writing to it, I suggest you to try the Microsoft Automated Troubleshooter at http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems.
