Connectors and Passwords Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.

I've got my WHS up and running finally and now have run into another problem.  I've installed the latest and greatest connector SW and cant seem to get it to work.

When i log into the PC the WHS icon in task bar comes on Green.   When i double click it asks for a password.  No password will work accept my admin password to the server.  And then when you try and access the shared folders you get access denied error message.

I thought the way the connector was supposed to work was you created account on the server with the same username and password that you had on your pc's.  that way when you logged into the laptop with your username and password, the connector would automatically log you into the server

Some of the things i've tested / checked:

I can access through the web with the various users and unique passwords and that works fine.
    Remote desktop works as well
my attached computers are able to be backed up.
i can map a network drive to shared folders from my machines

Thanks in advance for any help

That's correct.  That's how it works.

Did you create a user on the server yet?  Did you give it the same password as what you use to logon to the client?

    Yep, that's right.
