CRM 2011 Performance RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Why is it different performance for different users in CRM 2011? Users (PC) specifications are the same, but still we experience delays between 10-15 sec when loading Account data/views.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Let take two users George with sales manager role and Andrew with sales person rolefor which CRM performance is different.

For George, CRM takes 3 secs to fetch Accounts and for Andrew it takes 15 secs.

Now execute the following query to find out the total number accounts which are accessible by the users

    execute as user='domainname\george'
    select count(accountid) from filteredaccount
    revert

    execute as user='domainname\andrew'
    select count(accountid) from filteredcontact
    revert

If George has read access of 1 lac account records and Andrew have access of only 200 accounts records then SQL server will take more time to fetch the top 250 records data for Andrew.

    Thanks,

    Vikash

  • It could possibly be related to DNS and where they are accessing CRM from.  It could also be related to different versions of IE or even different settings within IE.  There are a number of things that can cause these symptoms.  Is everyone slower than you would expect or are only some slow in your opinion?

  • Is this CRM On Premise or Online?  CRM Web Client or Outlook Client or both?

If On Premise - I would check out opening the CRM Web Client at the CRM Server and see how fast there, then try to isolate the speed variable like others are saying.

  • the speed of CRM can also be affected if records are shared.

The number of add ons in IE could also change the speed.

Get the user to run some CRM queries from a different computer and see if there is any difference.

  • Hello -

To further debug the issue and help us improve the product.  Can you have each of the users go to https://OrganizationName.crm.dynamics.com/tools/diagnostics/diag.aspx , have them run the tests and then send the results to Microsoft (button at the bottom)?  From these results, you may be able to find out if the environment/systems that the users are using is affecting the performance. - Brandon

  • Also, add-ons and IE related things seem to definitely effect CRM speed.
