Printing blank page from laptop with Vista but printing fine from PC with XP RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm just getting started with Live Onecare.  The laptop with Vista is my hub.  PC1 w/XP has the printer.  PC2 has XP.  PC2 prints just fine on the PC1 printer.  The laptop sends the print job to the printer on PC1, but the page is blank.  Any suggestions?

  • Are you using Printer Sharing offered by OneCare or are you manually sharing the printer?

You may want to reinstall the printer driver on the laptop for that specific printer.

  • I am using OneCare printer sharing.  The computer that has the printer attached to it is not the laptop. This is the configuration:
Laptop w/Vista Home Premium: OneCare Hub, prints blank page on Lexmark printer attached to PC1
PC1 w/XP Home: has Lexmark printer attached
PC2 w/XP Home: no printer, no driver installed for Lexmark printer, but prints fine via OneCare printer sharing

I didn't think the driver would need to be installed on a computer sharing the printer via OneCare.  But I'll give it a try.

  • Installing the driver helped.  It is a Lexmark printer, and there is an updated driver for Vista.
    Thank you!
