Streaming Movies From WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows Home Server setup with bunch of movies on it and I want to stream all the movies from it to my TV . TV is connected to the router .
I dont see any option in my tv which way it can search for the media server . TV I have is TC-P46G10.
Any suggestions will help with someone who has done it before.

  • Assuming you refer to the Panasonic TC-P46G10 (the manufacturer of a component is a fairly useful bit of information), I'm pretty sure it's not able to consume media streamed from your server, and it's also not capable of consuming data directly from file shares. You should contact the television manufacturer to confirm this, of course.

You can, however, use the TV as the display for a Home Theater PC. That PC could be used as the media consumer, displaying your movies on the TV.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
