My CRM server is located in an AD tree in a large forest. Example: Forest root domain is DOMAINROOT.ORG (DOMAINROOT) Child domain is DOMAIN.LOCAL(DOMAIN) in a tree in the domainroot forest.
The CRM server is a member of the DOMAIN. When I try to add multiple users to Dynamics CRM, I can not choose users from the DOMAIN, only from the DOMAINROOT. If I choose to add users from specific domain, I only get the AD structure of the DOMAINROOT.
Seems like there's something funny about the way CRM finds the available domains in the add multiple users wizard. Adding a single user with DOMAIN\<username> works just fine.
Anyone else seen this problem and have a solution for it?
The add multiple wizard can be tricky when working with trusted domains/subdomains. One thing we have seen work is to change your DNS Search Order to prioritize the domain where your users are.
In some cases, I have had to just add the users 1 at a time.
