Outlook Add-in and CRM Online Trail RRS feed

  • Question

  • We've just singed up for a CRM online trial at dynamics.com and are trying to get Outlook Add-in with Rollup 10 working.

When we try and authenticate form Outlook using the Test Connection and specifying the  credentials we get
"Cannot connect to Microsoft Dynamics CRM server because we cannot authenticate your credentials. Check your connection or contact your administrator for more help."

All our users are setup on https://portal.microsoftonline.com/, which I believe is federated authentication but for the trail we just want the users to type the credentials setup on the portal rather than having single sign on or any AD syncing.

    Anyone got this working?

  • This should just work with the @domain.onmicrosoft.com address.

You could run through the troubleshooting wizard to see if it gives any clues:

  • Thank you for your help, running throught he wizard I found I needed to install Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant

After this was installed I tried again, the credentials worked!

    Brilliant, thank you very much!

  • What are you setting the "Server URL:" to?  I found I had to either select the default "CRM Online" or use https://disco.crm.dynamics.com.

  • If you select CRM Online, you should just be able to enter the @domain.onmicrosoft.com email address/password and it should come back with your organization.
