One-way presence information for Yahoo PIC contact RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've set up Public IM and everything is working except for one Yahoo contact.  All other Yahoo and MSN contacts work with no problem.  The contact can see my communicator status and we can exchange IM, but I cannot see their presence information.  They've changed presence status several times and other Yahoo contacts can see their status changes, I've removed the contact from Outlook and added it again, changed Communicator option to only include address book then added Outlook contacts again; all with no luck.

    Suggestions?

  • What happens if any other intrnal user adds the problem yahoo user as a contact?

You can try adding the problem yaho user with a different display name.

  • No luck when I try a different display name, but when other internal users add the problem yahoo user it works with no problem.

  • Is there any solution to this problem? I'm having the exact same issue.

    Thanks

  • I tried everything, but could never get it to work properly until I reloaded my desktop.  Hate to recommend that as a solution, but that's the only way I know to fix the issue.

  • I deleted the contact, went to another machine and recreated it. It came up showing Presence with no problem. When I went back to the other machine the new contact was also showing Presence. Not sure what exactly fixed it, but apparently it is localized to the machine.
