Why can't I no longer click add image in Live writer that directs to my Picasa web albums like I used to?

Live writer used to sync w/Picassa so easy. All I had to do was click on the "add image icon" and it would direct to my Picas web album and simply click to add the photo to my post in live writer, which was great as you could move the photos around, tilt etc and the best part was no URL to my Picasa web album appeared in the view source. I can no longer do this.
The options are from my hard drive or from the web. Even if the red X did not appear I don't like the fact that after downloading a picasa plug in the pictures URL appears in the view source as all anyone has to do is copy that URL in their browers and access all my Picasa web photos and when doing that also sees my email address....resulting in a ton of unwanted spamm.
I'm simply trying to figure out how to get it back to the old way. Is this some change with Microsoft Live Writer if yes it's truly awful. I do not want to use microsoft picture gallery as it affords absolutely not a shred of real privacy. View source allows anyone to see your albums.

Did you check your Windows Live Writer Album in Picasa? It could be that it has reached it's 500 pic limit and maybe opened another one under the same name. When this happened to me, it messed up my pictures appearing in my blog. Joe Cheng, a guru on this forum came up with a solution that involved resetting some TEMP files.
Of great concern to me is when I reach my Picasa W.A. total limit of 2 Gb. I have no idea how to link to an alternative Web Album that I hold under a different email address. Anyone any ideas?

Also, is it possible you are using the insert 'photo album feature' instead of the normal 'insert image' feature?

Hi bayheadmarine,
We haven't changed our Picasa code at all in a very long time. We use the URLs that the Picasa web service gives us, it's possible that they've changed the format of these URLs over time. Can you give us examples of the URLs you used to see, and the URLs you see now? If you don't want to post them on this forum you can e-mail me at joe.cheng *AT* microsoft.com. Thanks.Wednesday, March 25, 2009 7:15 PM -
Hello Joe:
I've been trying to locate the URL's to explain the issue, however the changes reflect in the older posts. Photos were loaded to a picassa web album which was actually named windows live writer. Opened live writer, made a table, clicked add image icon...did not select from hard drive, selected picassa clicked the images into the table and from there was able to tilt, watermark etc. which can no longer be done. Now what happens is an insert text looking box appears stating "picassa" and nothing can be done to tilt, crop etc the images. Older posts didn't have the text box appear so I'm at a bit of a loss.
Picassa limit it is no where its photo limit, not using album insert feature.
One thing I have noticed is writer used to place images in a folder on my hard drive called "my weblog posts" these files now show as XML looking files, originally only images appeared as jpeg.
No idea how it worked the way it did...but it did and it was easy and quick.Monday, May 4, 2009 4:14 PM
