Have Money backup files but have lost original program disk RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have used Money (2002 or 2003?) Canadian version for several years. Computer crashed and I have lost my original disk. I have my backup files and wanted to buy a new version of Money to continue using. I have about 10 years of data & my home inventory. I tried the sunset version download, but it didn't seem to recognize my files. Would Quicken recognize my files/ inventory. 10 years ago, I was a Quicken user and imported my files to Money. Does the Sunset version work with Canadian data? What can I do to use my backed up files?

  • It might be possible that Sunset would work for you. I think you need to step into it. Maybe try the trial version of 05.  http://www.microsoft.com/money/special/ThankYou.mspx

If that works, then convert to sunset version. Of course the spelling of checks, etc will be different and I am not sure if stocks will work right. http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/517.aspx

Maybe someone else reading this might have more info.

Make sure you are working with a copy of your original file just incase something happens.

    Good luck
