Hp Pavilion dv6 with Windows 7 - Windows Not Genuine

Question
-
I bought a refurbished hp laptop and after several days a message says that my copy of windows 7 is not original, I don't know how this could happen or if it is true at all. Can anyone help? Please! I read another post and it said to download and run MGA tool, I run it and this is the result. What is the next step? Was I sold a pirate copy of windows?

North America: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_genadv_master?ws=support&ws=support#tab4
Outside North America:
http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support#tab0"Which I could not use because it sent me to the "contact us" page and asked me for the Product Id number which i wrote down and says it's going to cost me to contact them... (GRRR!!!)
If you used the North America link, it should have linked you directly to the WGA support page and WGA support is at No Cost.If you used the Outside North America link, it depends on what region you are in and if that region provides no-cost WGA support. You may try clicking the North America link and selecting the contact support by Chat option. Tell the support rep that you have a vistalizator related Non-Genuine issue.
Thank you,

Hello Aeroplano,
Your HP Pavilion laptop has the expected OEM SLP license and HP deployment product key for Windows 7 Home Premium, so I don't think you have a counterfeit installation of Windows.
Can you confirm that the laptop has a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) for Windows 7 Home Premium with HP/Compaq printed on it, affixed to the bottom of the laptop, or maybe inside the laptop's battery compartment? (Don't post the product key on the CoA.)
Does this Windows installation have a third party program installed that changes the display language of Windows? A popular program of this type is called Vistalizator.

Thanks for the quick reply both of you! The laptop does have a CoA on the bottom and it looks legitimate.
I still have a couple of questions about the answer Darin Smith recommends. It may be that the installation of a program changed the language at some point and is the cause of the "not genuine" message but I can't be certain which program installation made the change because since I started using the laptop I've been installing a lot of automatic updates and several programs I use and can't tell which one made the error occur (so I can't run the program to change the MUI packs that started the problem as the article: "This copy of Windows is not genuine" warning when MUI packs are installed in Windows 7" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2105247/ says I should do.).
Then tried this solution:
"UPDATE: Microsoft Assisted Support now has a tool that will revert Windows back to it's default language. This will resolve theVistalizator/Language Pack issue described above. This is an internal Microsoft tool and can only be used by contacting Microsoft Assisted Support at one of the following URLs:
North America: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_genadv_master?ws=support&ws=support#tab4
Outside North America:
http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support#tab0"Which I could not use because it sent me to the "contact us" page and asked me for the Product Id number which i wrote down and says it's going to cost me to contact them... (GRRR!!!)
So it comes down to.... Can I run the vistalizator to change the language back to original? If that is possible, how do I do that? I dont even know what vistalizator is! I hope there is a solution for this!
Thank you again!

Try this, if you do not know the source of the MUI files then maybe the WGA folks can help you or point you in the right direction. Not sure if they will assist with language pack problems but they are the people who know how to fix WGA issues that can't be fixed relatively easily here.

Hi again. Thank you all for your recommendations. Although I couldn't use them because somehow it always directed me to a page saying it would cost me to contact and the link Carl_OH provided is very vague and usually leads to more and more options I didn't know what to choose. I decided to use HP Recovery Manager to set the lap to factory conditions, although it erased the trial version of Office, everything else is there, all I have to do now is re-install the automatic updates and a couple of programs that I installed. After finishing reinstalling the OS I logged in to microsoft.com and validated Windows successfully. Windows was originally in english and at some point it changed to spanish and i didnt even notice. DUH. haha. I ran the MGA tool again so if you could check that everything is all right. Thanks!
