  • Question

  • Alright, so basically... is there a way to turn the search box in CRM (specifically the Outlook client) into a "search any field into this entity"?

It works if we do the advanced search, but I don't see that option on Outlook.  Essentially I want to be able to search any of the visible columns and have it show the results.  We've customized the view for our users so that it shows the custom fields as a default column.

Is this possible somehow? I wasn't sure if the fields needed to be an "index" for them to be searchable?

  • I may not understand your question properly. One of the thing you can do is open up the quick search system view of the entity and the search column you want to it. These does not need to be displayed in the view if don't want. The only issue is quick find view always return active records.

    I hope this helps.

  • Ah, thanks.  I didn't realize that's what quick find was for, I was expecting it to be a setting within Outlook itself.

    All works great now :)
