Multile web conf A/V conf and singel front end RRS feed

    Hi,

    Does any one know it it possible to do the following:

     

    Install a singel front-end.

    Add 2 or more web conference servers

    Add 2 or more A/V conference servers

     

    I mean, since the web and A/V servers report its availability to the pool and then front-end keeps track of the connections. This should work, right? Of course the front-end is a single point of failure, but if you don't have a loas balancer and would like to scale out..anyone tested this?

    Assuming you are talking about deploying a single Enterprise Edition Front-End node and not a Standard Edition Stand-Alone then that would be fine.

     

    Technically a load balancer is required for even a single FE server, but you can simply attach the pool's IP address to the FE's NIC as a wrok-around.  Once a second node is added then an HLB must be used.

    This is called an Enterprise Expanded topology, and it works great.  Communication between the FE(s) and the AV/Web conferencing servers enables the system to place conferences on the MCUs with the best availability.

    It's the "required" load-balancer that makes it all confusing since it work without it anyway. Just wanted verify this..thanks again!
