Unresolved Conflicts keep repeating RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have been using Windows Live Mesh since the beginning of the Beta trial meshing 5 computers all at different sites with few issues.  Recently, it has started syncing months old files from one computer with the rest of the computers and repeating this over and over. Then, it says there are unresolved conflicts between the computers. This morning it did this for 3 hours. I could not find on the Mesh itself how to ask for help with this. Thanks.

  • Another possibility is that something is indeed updating the files on one machine in your Mesh.

  • When there are conflicts, the notifier on the machine will provide you a link to address the conflicts. Have you looked at the conflicts in News of the notifier and addressed any of them?
Conflicts mean that Live Mesh sees that the files have changed in multiple locations, meaning that it cannot autmatically decide which version you wish to keep.
Are you getting the conflict notices on all of the PCs?
On the PC that is apparently the source of the conflicts, did something recently change? Is the PC clock correct on that PC? Did some program access the files that are being synchronized to the rest of your Mesh?

  • The greatest problem is the continual synching of back files.  It goes on for hours and slows down my machine. The synching occurs on all machines.  I do not know if it slows down all the other machines or not. As near as I can tell, there is no pattern to how it repeats the updating of old files. Other than it seems to always be the same files. The unresolved conflicts statement eventually always disappears. This problem has been going on for months, but has recently increased expontially. I will check to see if all the clocks are correct, but I do not see how that should cause this continual synching of old files.  Thanks
