SyncToy 2.0 does not maintain last modified date RRS feed

  • Question

  • SyncToy 2.0 does not maintain last modified date.

When updating from my USB memory stick to my hard drive (C:), the updated C: drive file had the current modification date, rather than the last mod date of the USB drive file.

When I did preview again, just after the successful sync, it proposed to sync back in the other direction!

There should be a way to stop this so that a sync-ed file and the sync-source file appear as identical (and therefore no need to sync) to SyncToy 2.0.

Does anyone know how this might be done?

  •  Hi -

We would have files constantly sync'ing back and forth between two locations if we did not make sure that we wrote the LastWriteTime correctly on the disk. Are you sure that you did not update the file by doing an explicit or implicit update? What kind of file was this - we have seen some WMP files being updated with new times when they are played.

    Thanks
