Request for Media Center "Recorded TV" add-on RRS feed

    Any experienced addin developers care to make an Add-in to allow Media Center to connect to a "Recorded TV" share?

    Right now, a registry modification, change in user access and a batch file is needed, plus when the batch file is run, you need to disconnect (not logout) so the permissions stay intact..

    An addin would be great for this.. The initial parts aren't that big of a deal, but needing to disconnect instead of logging off isn't the greatest solution.

    Perhaps the Media Centre could also record directly to the WHS?

    The add-in would take care of the permissions and registry modifications on the WHS.
    For recording to the WHS, the change needs to be made on the Media Center PC so I don't think the addin could do this.  (maybe via a remote registry modification)

    I'm surprised this is feature complete and doesn't already have this since if this does make it big, this will be a common question and seen as a shortcoming.

    I'm pretty sure I've read guidance that suggests that the folder you record "into" isn't a network share. It's not so bad with a single TV tuner, but 2, 3, or even 4 can stress out a network connection. Oh, and I know 4 tuners isn't a supported config, but you never know, right?
