  • Since you posted in the OneCare forums, I'm assuming you have OneCare too?

If you do, OneCare should be able to remove these threats.

  • If by any chance you are within the continental United States or so Canada please do call this number

866 727 2338 ( PCsafety Group of Microsoft ) since you dont have onecare yet in your PC.  Or you can use the trial version for Onecare www.windowsonecare.com

You've gotten some good advice here, but for future reference, the Defender discussion groups are here:

  • I have this same problem.  Apparently all of the main files have been deleted.  Then I started it up yesterday and saw that the icon was not there, "flashing", anymore.  But then this morning when I booted the computer it was back again flashing in the system tray.  I have OneCare and it hasn't taken care of this problem.  Any other suggestions?

Since you *are* using OneCare, see this post - http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=662566&SiteID=2

Which includes the information that you can contact support for help in removing any threat that OneCare has not removed. Of course, you also have the option posted by Milo above.
