MSCRM 4.0 Update Rollup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi -

I was wondering if there's any data that should be backed up on machines that use the MSCRM client for Outlook?  I am planning on upgrading our MSCRM 4.0 environment from Rollup 3 to Rollup 20 soon, and I wanted to see if there's anything I should be aware of to backup on users machines.  Thanks.

  • Basically it will not change the data of your outlook, but for safety purpose, you can backup your outlook pst file
*Remember that you need to install rollup 7 then only rollup 20, because currently you are in rollup 3 only.

    RU7 is a prerequisite.

  • Thanks for the reply.  Additionally, if some client machines do not have the Rollup 20 installed, and the CRM server is updated to Update Rollup 20, will these users have any issues using CRM without the Outlook client update rollup?

  • Hi MAR387,

If your Outlook clients are using the offline version, is recomended you backup the clients local databases.
