  • Hello Trig72,

Regarding Windows, your Dell's (which presumably is your personal property, not Government property)
installation of Vista Home Premium is reporting as the proper OEM license from Dell, so no worries there.

Regarding Office, here's what is installed:
    OGA Data-->
    Office Status: 108 Invalid VLK
Microsoft Office Excel 2007 - 108 Invalid VLK
Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007 - 100 Genuine
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 - 103 Blocked VLK
Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007 - 100 Genuine
Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007 - 100 Genuine

Note that the individually called-out installation of Excel listed above is a second installation and not the one that is a base component of Office Enteprise 2007.

Each of these programs is reporting as a Volume Licensing installation.

I am going on the assumption that you have authorization from your unit commander to install these programs onto your privately owned computer IAW whatever the US Army's current policy is regarding commercial software used for Army purposes.  I am also making the assumption that the unit does have a proper license (in the form of a valid Volume Licensing product key) from Microsoft to use the specified software.

So, based on that, here's what to do:

    1.  Uninstall the standalone copy of Excel 2007.  This standalone copy is nongenuine, and you don't need it anyway because Office Enterprise 2007 has an integral copy of Excel.

    2.  Use a keyfinder utility (http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/) to view the Product Key that was used to install Office Enterprise 2007.

    3.  Compare it to the Product Key that you were given by your unit (which we are assuming is a valid product key).  I think we will find that an incorrect and nongenuine product key was used to install Office Enterprise 2007.

    4.  If that indeed is the case, where the wrong product key was used to install Office Enterprise 2007, then our next task is to change the product ket to the presumably valid product key that you have from your unit.  To do this, follow the instructions in this MS KB article:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/895456

    5.  Post back with a SITREP when done.

    6.  Do not post any product keys when replying.

  • Hello Trig72,

All of the Office programs installed on your Dell XPS computer are reporting as Volume Licensing products.  This usually is the case if your computer is part of a larger business, educational, or governmental organization's network.

If your computer is indeed part of such a network, please contact your organization's tech support staff for assistance.

  • Hello Trig72,

Are the installed programs copies of their programs?

  • Hello Trig72,

Regarding Windows, your Dell's (which presumably is your personal property, not Government property)
installation of Vista Home Premium is reporting as the proper OEM license from Dell, so no worries there.

Regarding Office, here's what is installed:
    OGA Data-->
