I need to update my account for live one care RRS feed

  • Question

  • I would like to subscribe to Live One Care as my subscription is up, but cannot get my account updated or find a customer service number to call.

Circuit City has closed and that is where we had the billing information set up at.

How can I update my information and continue Live One Care, It does say it will renew, but I don't think the correct information is in your accounts.

  • When Circuit City set up your OneCare install, they should have given you a paper with the LiveID and password used for your subscription. The LiveID can also be seen in OneCare as the subscription ID - open OneCare, click Help/About.

You will need to contact support if you are unable to locate the password for your LiveID. You will also be getting a 6 month extension for free if you subscription is currently close to expiration, but you need to sign in to take advantage of that.

If you don't recall the LiveID you used for your subscription, you will need to contact support who can provide that information to you using your Key and/or contact information.

Alternatively, sign in at http://billing.microsoft.com with email addresses that you have set up as LiveIDs and one will show your subscription listed.

Unofficial path - send me an email at sboots@mvps.org with a subject line including "OneCare" (to get past my spam filtering) and in the message body, tell me what country you are in, your forum nickname, and paste this link:

I am not online 24x7, so you may be waiting for a reply, but I'll do my best to hook you up with support.

If you don't get an email response from me wthin 24 hours, post back as my email provider is getting more aggressive with the spam filtering.

  • You can't change your paid subscription from one account to another account. Even if the LiveID is no longer used, your subscription exists under that LiveID.
You can contact support to get the Hotmail account working again.

If the problem is with your Hotmail account and not just the LiveID -

As for the renewal, at this time I believe that your credit card will not be charged for renewal. All accounts that are expiring between now and the release of Microsoft Security Essentials are being renewed for a free 6 months.

In the past, any subscription with a valid Billing account and credit card on file would be renewed for 12 months on the expiration date and the credit card charged.
