Haha same here man, its not working right now, and when it starts working , i will get lots and lots of mails
Last time when this alert feature wasn't working and it suddenly started to work i got about 280+ emails 
damn thats huge ;P -
Thatz because u work a lot at forums, lower down your work to get less mails

Thats true m8. But i think its better to unsubscribe from threads, rather than lowering down my work -

Raghuram, was alerts working earlier for you ? if not then all the mails might be going to the spam folder. Cause by default the mails go to the spam folder. I have marked it as safe, and now i am getting them I thik you should add Windows Live Alerts from Microsoft Forums (forumsup@microsoft.com) in your safe list -

Go to the link of My threads at the top, here you will find the list of the threads you are registered for alerts....
There the top most thread is the one which has been the latest updated thread....
Now the trick is the Icon at the left of the thread....
Its colorful if it has been updated after your last visit, and its black if you had already visited the updated thread...
So you dont need to visit every thread to check if there is an update, just check the color of the threads.. if there is a new post after your last visit, it will become colorful, so have fun and do the smart work...

I am ready to get another huge set of mails -
Now I m planning to open the mail A/c after 15
And I m sure after that things are going to normalize....

Since you are not gettign themails in the JUNK(SPAM/BULK) folder, you cannot directly mark the sender as safe. I think there might be some subscription try unsibscribing from a thread, and again subscribe to it. To see a list of all the subscribed threads Click HERE.
Adding the email address in your contact list will automatically add it into the save list. -
