  • Hi experts,

    i am getting following error during the installation process.Failure: Service msftesql was not found on computer '<computername>'.
    The specified service does not exist as an installed service & try to install KB article 956869.But i got the error "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server was not found on the system". please help me to proceed further.

    Here is my enviornment

    Windows 2003 Server x64 Enterprise edition with SP2

    SQL Server 2008 x64 enterprise edition.

    check if your sql bowser service is running on your machine.

  • I can recall seeing this also on some installations. I think the work around is during the installation process is to NOT update the installation files during the setup process.

  • Hi Venkata,

    HI Alan,

    A couple items to check:

    a.  make sure you 'download updates' when you start the installer.
    b.  Verify your sql server installation
    c.  If sql is on a different box, try to turn off the windows firewall.

    I downloaded updated set up files manually from http://rc.crm.dynamics.com/rc/regcont/en_us/op/articles/downloadupdates.aspx & using the follwoing option

    Apply Setup updates without Internet access.

    When i try to run the exe i got the following error

    The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer because the program to be upgraded may be missing ,or the upgrade patch may update a different versions of program.

    Please help me to move forward
