add existing child case? RRS feed

  • Hello, I've been asked to configure the CRM system to support "Add Existing" child case. "Add New" is displayed in the ribbon and works otb. I opened up the case ribbon in Ribbon Workbench and I see "Add Existing {0}" as a subgrid option. What do I need to do to enable the "Add Existing {0}" button only when the case "Children" left nav item is selected?

  • Hi dotnetteramg123,

    I don't think customizing the Ribbon will do the work;  because you cannot add an existing Case. This is probably because when you're creating a new Case, the Customer is mandatory, meaning you need to provide a Contact/Account for whom the Case is being created. So, associating an existing Case to a different (or existing) Customer doesn't make sense.
