  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop. Recently I have reformatted my laptop. Now I am trying to download updates but it's failing the genuine windows check. I have run disgnostic tool and it's saying it's a genuine window. I have pasted the report below. Can you please have a look and advise me please?

    Many Thanks

    San1324,

The diag report shows that this OS is a Windows XP Professional,  however our tools indicate also that this is a non supported product.  Which OS are you installing? Often times users with Windows Server or Windows 2000 will come up with this type of diagnostic data.  The supported products are Windows XP (Home, Pro, Tablet, Media Center), Windows Vista (all flavors) and Office XP,2003, 2007.

In any event, this product key is invalid as it has been sited on many different internet websites and has therefore been

compromised.  We are sorry to hear about your situation. Please be sure to backup or otherwise offload any data from the hard disk because a clean installation/reimaging will destroy all personal user data on the hard drive. Please don't hesitate re-posting if you need further assistance.

    San1324,

The diag report indicates a genuine copy but is an unsupported product.

I will have to look into this further to give you any final saying on it.
