svchost.exe was deleted RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I ran an anti virus and the svchost.exe was deleted from System32 folder. The pc starts, but the programs do not work properly. I can't connect to network drives, copy files or print.
Is there a way to reinstall svchost.exe? I have my XP cd, but i do not know which command to use.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Contact your antivirus software's producer on how to prevent the software to delete the file once you restore it.
Visit a Windows XP forum/newsgroup for how to restore the file.
