Playing .srt and .rar files on Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm trying to open videos with the .srt and .rar extension files but they won't open on Windows Media Center. I've tried to download the VLC media player, but that doesn't work either. What program can i use to open them?

  • I don't know about .srt files, but .rar files are compressed files. You need to find and download a decompressor such as WinRar. I have not been able to get WinRar to work on Vista yet, but there is probably a decompressor out there that will work for .rar files.
