Adding users from an another tenant to Dynamics 365 Online RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have already configured the Exchange Online mailboxes in one tenant and Dynamics 365 Online instances in another tenant. I would like to allow sign-in users to CRM using their credentials from Exchange Online and use their mailboxes to sending emails from CRM.

Referring to that I have a few questions:

    1. Is it possible to merge accounts existing in CRM with users added as guest accounts from the other tenant? How to do this?
    2. Is it possible to send emails from CRM using pop configuration for Exchange Online account from the other tenant?

    Thanks,
    PiotrM.

  • This article suggests that you give users outside of the D365 tenant access, https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/crm/2017/04/19/invite-users-to-access-dynamics-365-with-the-azure-active-directory-business-to-business-b2b/

With regard to your question 1, I suspect not.

For question 2, I think not.

Do you need to keep D365 and Exchange in separate tenants?  It would make things easier to have them in one.
