    Question

  • i had to recover my toshiba satellite computer from recovery disks now i get an error that my windows is not genuine. i called toshiba twice and was told that because i installed a new harddrive they could not help.. if i have product key and recovery disks that came with my toshiba why cant i get microsoft to accept my version as genuine, as it is a genuine copy of what came installed on my toshiba satellite.

    The problem here is that for some reason the system is unable to properly read the BIOS SLIC table, which is required for self-activation of the OEM_SLP Key in use.
    You need to change the Product Key to the one on your COA sticker, using he Change Product Key link at the bottom of the System properties page.

  • You can reactivate your Windows Vista installation by performing the following:

    1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in: slui.exe 4

    2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

    3. Select your Country.

    4. Follow the instructions for phone activation (no charge).

    Note:  The 25-character Windows Vista product key is printed on the COA label affixed to the bottom of your laptop.
