Filtering in a datatable RRS feed

  • Question

  •  Hi all,

I have a datatable with a varchar column. This column has values say  a.b,ab,a'b,abcd,a.bcd,a-beg..........................

Now I want to filter this datatable for which i use the select method. My problem is that Suppose i needed to search this table for a.b....the user never enters a.b they just enter ab and also i don't need strings which would have a 'b' anywhere in it.I mean if the user enters ab i need strings beginning with ab including a.b,a'b,a-b........Is this possible. Now i am using the Like operator..........Please Help...

  • You would almost need to use a RegEx to search the field to truly do it.

You might get around it with a like comparison....but it might not be perfect.
