Installation of Microsoft Sync Services for ADO.NET v2.0 (x86) fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • 1. During installation following error appears and setup rollback whole installation.

    Product: Microsoft Sync Services for ADO.NET v2.0 (x86) -- Error 1937. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.Synchronization.Data,version="2.0.0.0",culture="neutral",publicKeyToken="89845DCD8080CC91",processorArchitecture="MSIL"'. The signature or catalog could not be verified or is not valid. HRESULT: 0x80131045. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, component: {C74BB474-4124-4DBB-8D20-F47AA17EAB56}

    2. Name of setup is misleading as it is CTP1 Refresh, but it is not mentioned there.

    Wojciech Gebczyk

  • We have posted an update here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=147C41A9-69F0-496E-B095-DBC5CFFD6285&displaylang=en

    I just checked and x86 and amd64 are visible and I expect ia64 should be visible within the hour.

    Please make sure you choose the appropriate file for your environment (e.g., CTP1SyncServicesADO_x86.msi & CTP1SyncSetup_x86.exe for x86 machines).

    Please let me know if you see your issue persist.

  • I am having the same problem.

    I have Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server 2005 Express installed. I also had Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 installed, but recently removed it if that helps.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Cheers,
