Downloading Word template - get "Counterfeit" warning - cannot download RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was using Word this evening (Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007), and for the first time, tried to download a template.

I got an error that said my Word was Counterfeit.  I clicked on the provided link which showed meyOffice install as Validated.  But I still could not get past the error.  I tried several times before giving up and recreating the template manually.

Here is the pasted output from the WGA Diagnostic Tool (1.7) - as you can see, my system is Genuine and valid.  Please fix the issue.

  • DavidNason,

Thank you for contacting the OGA program forum. According to our analysis, we could not find any conflicts in regards to your Diagnostic Report. The only thing we would like for you to do, is verify the Eula's against each of your Office products to make sure that you are in tolerance.

Below is a reference for End User Licensing Agreement (EULA).

Depending on what version you currently have would dictate the transferability and license terms.  Please read your End User Licensing Agreement (EULA). In order to read your EULA, click Start>Run, type winver and click OK, then click on the link for the license terms or EULA.  Office retail versions have more flexibility than the other versions.   Please visit Find License Terms for Software Licensed from Microsoft at the following links:

If you wish to continue further, please send us the exact error message text you are receiving in regards to your validation issue. And the scenario.

Thank you for contacting the Office Genuine Advantage (OGA) program forum.
