Unfortunately, the Key your are using is from an MSDN account which has been blocked for abuse - you have a number of options.....
    1) Inform the gift-giver of your problems, and ask them to take it up with their vendor (I suspect that this could well lead to disappointment for all concerned)
    2) Purchase a new license for Win 7 for your use (rather expensive)
    3) revert back to your original Operating System
    4) Live with it

Please read the Blocked Key sticky at the head of the forum's index page for more details of the licensing problem.

  • Hello jorocoii,

More bad news:  Your installation of Office is a nongenuine Volume Licensing installation.

  • Noel is correct,

I have analyzed the Product Key being used in this copy of Windows and it shows that it is a Blocked key that originated from a MSDN Subscription.

The licensing for MSDN Subscriptions is that only the owner of the MSDN Subscription that a Product Key originated from is allowed to use the Product Key. In addition, Product keys from an MSDN Subscription can not be resold separate from the full MSDN Subscription (meaning if someone wants to sell a Product Key originating from their own MSDN Subscription, they must sell the entire MSDN subscription, including all the keys that originated from that Subscription).

The keys were Blocked due to abuse of the MSDN program (meaning either the Subscription, that this keys originated from, was purchased using a stolen Credit Card or the Product Key was found to be sold or given to multiple people in breach of the MSDN Subscription terms of service).

Please see http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinewindows7/thread/a2444f34-0aff-4f29-a8ac-67e28b0c0285 for more information about these types of Blocked keys as well as options regarding what to do about it.

    Thank you,

    Darin MS

  • Thank you for the fast reply. Everything in the box looks legit, the instruction book, CD's, COA, bar code, unopened package..... It was a gift from my daughter, and she did buy in on eBay. Just got done with a purchase on the Microsoft site and hopefully everything is resolved now. Thanks again.
