This error can appear for a number of reasons - in view of the fact that you've already shown that it's likely you've used some kind of registry 'cleaner' (AKA Destroyer) it's likely related to that.

    Please post the following...

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions  and upload  the requested data  to a fileshare site, and post a link.

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Strictly speaking, it's not related, but in cases like this, there can be all sorts of other problems, and hopefully, this will catch al least most of them!

  • To confirm that the problem is what I think it is, please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt window and post the results.

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

    REG QUERY HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\TypeLib\{EE574957-4077-4AD6-8658-327C2C86C5AA} /S

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)

    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.

    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.

    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

  • Hi Noel.

I did a search for the results that I got from your REG QUERY and followed the instructions that you gave other with the same problem, ie merge the 'sluicom64.reg' into my registry.

Should I be concerned about this?

    Regards,
