Your installation of Pro is using a Blocked Volume License Key - so it's from a counterfeit.
You need to reinstall using an OEM XP Home disk, or the appropriate Dell recovery disk set.

  • Please look closely at the Certificate of Authenticity label affixed to your Dell laptop.  Is the 25-character product key for Windows XP Professional or is it for Windows XP Home Edition?

Also, to help us analyze and troubleshoot a non-genuine notification issue you may be experiencing, please download and run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostics Tool.

Once you run the tool, click on the Continue button, then click on the Copy button and paste the report into your post, along with your question.

    Thank you!
