Reinstallation of Microsoft Money

Question
-
I had problems with my OS and reinstalled my OS. Further, I reinstalled money. Usually, When I reinstall money, It will ask me for the key and name. This is 2007 MS Money. Before, I used to call Microsoft and they will send me an email with Key and name when I give the order number. Then Microsoft transferred the support to Digital River and I have done the same thing with Digital River and they will send an email with Key and name. As of June 2010, Digital River is no longer supporting MS Money 2007. It is back to Microsoft. Microsoft support representative is not giving me the key and asking me to go through these forums. All I need is a Key to enter into Money. How can I get that?
I am so frustrated with Microsoft as I am going back and forth for about a month. The support staff is not helpful at all. I dont know if she understands my issue.

Microsoft is discontinuing MS Money and all support for it. Read some of the many postings in this forum that describe this. Then download and install the Sunset version of MS Money.Thursday, August 19, 2010 2:15 PM

You must reinstall a lot. Probably not a great practice with keyed software. If you had bought M07 from a store on a CD, you'd have better options.
As Bill notes, you have probably backed yourself into a corner where your only choice is an upgrade to (unsupported) Money Plus Sunset. It is available from downloads.microsoft.com. It will not be able to download data (quotes, transactions from your bank, transactions from your bank via Yodlee) from anywhere.
Welcome to the Brave New World post Microsoft support for Money.

Thank You Bill and Dick for the response.
My main purpose is to download transactions from bank. If that is not available in Money Plus Sunset, I dont know if I want to install that. Also, It looks like a store bought microsoft version is better for reinstallation. Could you please recommend a latest version of Money with online services like download data? I will look in some of the stores.

M07 retail box was the last version that supported reinstallation ad nauseam. It will be hard to find, but might be possible. If your downloads are direct from your financial institutions (as opposed to "via third party") it should continue to download, IIRC. (But I may not--I've never downloaded transaction one, so I haven't stayed real sharp on the combinations they can kill vs. the ones they can't. I suspect someone will step in and correct me if I'm wrong.)
M+ Sunset will reinstall ad nauseum but has had its online features neutered.
Virtually any feature of any version of Money that requires ongoing involvement by Microsoft will be going dark shortly even if it hasn't already.

Hello MS_Money_User,
There is no version of Money for sale that will download automatically as Money currently does.
I was in the same boat.....apparently when Microsoft proudly sold me Money-7 and used Digital River as a download service, they didn't anticipate the problems we would have later. When Microsoft would not help me, I bought a used copy of Money-7 on CD and used that. There was no activation request when I first installed it a couple of weeks ago, but due to an unrelated problem, I had to reinstall it on September 1. Now, the Microsoft servers seem to refuse to install the SP2 patch that would make this version work.If you try the Sunset Edition, you will find that it is--as advertised--unable to download. However, I have today learned of a possibility that will make it download again, and you should take a look at this web site and read all the pages. Though I have not yet tried all of the solutions proposed, I intend to do so.

And if any of you regulars know the answer to this question, I'd sure like to hear it:
Has Microsoft turned off the server that provided the SP2 download for Money-7?
